After finishing my thriller film opening, I think the project turned out well and I improved a lot throughout the process. At the start, I only had a basic idea, but as I planned and filmed, the story became clearer and more effective.
One of the best parts of my film is the opening scene. Starting with the main character in his car with police sirens in the background makes it immediately interesting and creates a lot of questions for the audience. I think this works well because it builds suspense straight away and makes people want to know what happened. The flashback after that also helps because the audience sees the result first and then finds out how it happened.
The phone call scene is another strong part. Not showing the antagonist and only hearing his voice makes it more mysterious and tense. Editing the voice slightly helped make it sound more controlled and realistic. The ending with the mailbox also works well because it’s a cliffhanger, so the audience doesn’t know what’s inside and it makes them want to keep watching.
During the project, I improved my skills in filming and editing. I got better at using camera angles, especially close-ups to show emotion, and I learned how important sound is for creating tension. Using Audacity and Clipchamp helped me understand how to edit audio and video properly.
If I could improve anything, I would spend more time on small details like lighting and making the shots more varied. I think that would make the film look even more professional.
Overall, this project helped me understand how thriller films are made and how different elements work together to create suspense. I feel more confident now in making films and using editing software, and I think my final product shows the progress I made.
