CCR Question #4 Research

How I Integrated Technologies in My Project

Hardware Used

Throughout this project, I used different types of hardware to film and produce my film opening. This included phone for recording the videos. Using these tools allowed me to film scenes and record dialogue effectively.

Software Used

I also used several types of software during the production process. For audio editing, I used Audacity a cross platform digital audio work station to edit the caller’s voice. This allowed me to adjust the pitch and apply sound effects so the voice sounded more mysterious and realistic.

For video editing, I used Clipchamp to combine the different clips, adjust the timing, and add sound effects from Pixabay. Editing software was essential because it allowed me to organize the scenes and create a smooth final product.

Online Technologies

Online tools also helped during the project. The internet was used for researching thriller conventions, finding inspiration, and learning editing techniques like how to make the text messages pop up on screen.

Overall, using different technologies helped improve the qualit
y of the project and allowed me to complete each stage of production more effectively.

CCR Question #3 Research

How My Production Skills Developed During the Project

Planning and Story Development

During this project, my production skills improved in several ways. In the beginning, I focused on planning the story and creating a clear kind of structure for the film opening. I learned how important it is to plan scenes, dialogue, and camera shots before hand so that filming runs smoothly and you don't get stuck half way through.

Through the planning process, I also developed my understanding of storytelling techniques used in thriller films. I learned how to build suspense through pacing, mystery, and cliffhangers.

Filming and Directing

While filming the project, I developed practical skills such as framing shots, directing actors, and capturing the right angles to show certain emotions. For example, I used close-up shots of the character’s face and hands to show panic and tension in the first scene. This helped make the moment more dramatic and engaging.

I also learned how to think more carefully about lighting, location, and props. These elements helped create a believable environment and improve the overall visual quality of the film.

Editing and Audio Skills

Another important skill I developed was editing. During post-production, I worked on arranging clips, adjusting pacing, and adding sound effects to improve the atmosphere. I also experimented with editing audio, such as changing the voice of the caller slightly to make it sound more mysterious by making his voice deeper. This helped me understand how editing can strongly influence the mood of a scene.

CCR Ideas

For my CCR right now I only have 1 idea that i got from someone as a recommendation which was that I should be in my room and then get a call from the caller from my film opening who is giving the kid all the orders, and I answer his questions which will be the CCR questions and I really like this one because it relates directly towards my film opening connecting them and giving it a fun twist, making it interesting.

CCR Question #2 Research

How My Film Opening Engages Audiences and How It Could Be Distributed

Audience Engagement

My film opening engages the audience by creating mystery and suspense from the very beginning. The first scene shows the main character sitting in his car with police sirens in the background. This immediately raises questions for the audience, such as what happened and why he is in that situation. This technique is effective because it makes viewers curious and encourages them to keep watching to find answers.

Another way the film engages the audience is through the use of a mysterious phone call. The antagonist is not shown, and the audience only hears his voice. This creates psychological tension and allows viewers to imagine the threat themselves. The cliffhanger ending, where the character opens the mailbox and looks shocked without revealing what is inside, also keeps the audience interested and wanting to know what happens next.

Distribution as a Real Media Text

If this film were distributed as a real media product, it would likely target audiences who enjoy thriller and suspense films, especially teenagers and young adults. The story focuses on a young protagonist and a high-pressure situation, which many younger viewers may find relatable and engaging.

The film could be distributed through online streaming platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, or YouTube, where short films and independent projects are commonly shared. Social media platforms could also be used to promote the film through trailers, clips, and posters. This would help reach a wider audience and generate interest before the full film is released.
